Boy Scout Fundraising Ideas

In the world of fundraising, scouting groups have an advantage - because people love scouts and for sure love of your organization will go a long way in helping to make your boy scout fundraising ideas successful

Find out new ways to help your scout group raise the money needed to continue to help young men and women and make them feel proud to be successful, productive future citizens.

Manpower

– Decide on a fundraising idea where you can invest in scout labor such as car wash, gardening, rather than money. Manpower makes a lot difference and because of this, you can pull off fundraisers with which other groups may struggle.

Join local groups - Pool your resources and make sure to target the large fundraising events that would be impossible for one group alone to manage. Join with other local scouting groups and then split the profits. Some of the ideas include a carnival or the raffling off of a big ticket item.

Services

– Check out who is in need of services like lawn care, babysitting and/or housecleaning services and offer to provide those services for a small fee, then make sure the youngsters offer the same services for a a few disadvantaged people at no charge, so that the young people will learn the importance of giving and caring for those in need while you earn money for your group.

Partnering

- Think about partnering with businesses and other Non-Profit Groups. Some businesses will partner with scout groups before they partner with church youth groups. You may also find local businesses will help by providing goods for particular scouting events such as camping trips. You may also consider partnering with other non-profits such as a local food bank or animal care center.

Choosing the a fundraising even people can get passionate about. You will then draw a set of people who are interested in the respective cause and get all the support because members are so passionate they will work for the cause.

For example – You can ask your scout troop to arrange for a 10 mile “Biking for Animals” ride. And get partnered with business sponsors, make sure to charge an entry fee for each rider and sell food and drinks at the event. If you pair two different organizations, the support you get from the members will work wonders and make these events a bigger hit than if you’d gone it alone.

These are the workable and successful tips, so now is the time to act. Put into action some of the above tips, and I am sure your troop will be the proud owner of a merit badge in fundraising!
